hey dude sorry to bother you, i was just wondering hwo you export your maya files to hypershot, the only one i can see is the fbx and i was just wondering if thats a stable format?

No bother.

Use obj.

NOTE!!!!! Bunkspeed doesent use groups, it uses materials. So group your objectwith colour.

E.g In Maya i apply a vivid lambert shader to each material group (chrome parts, glass parts, body colour parts etc) when you are done your model will look like a hippies dream. Then export a .OBJ with materials turned on. DONT TRY GROUPS IT WILL NOT WORK!

Import the file into hypershot and apply the materials you want.

(tip: If you right click on a part of your car e.g windscreen you can hide thet material set. I use this to hide all the parts with correct materials applied so i can clearly see what still needs work.)

Using this method all of the UV cordinates are preserved as well.

Have Fun!!
