I decided to model on of my dream guitars. Its a custom shop Les paul.

Spec:
Classic flame maple archtop shape with my super sweet custom "cherry burst" finish and creme binding. Tone-pro's saddle / tailpiece and grover rotomatic machine heads, and of course EMG 81/60A set.

Info:
Modeled in Catia V5 in about 12 hours from a gibson blueprint.

Rendered in maya in about 40 mins

C&C welcome, although dislikeing the guitar will end in certain death... :D

I'm currently modelling a Telecaster in 3DS, have you got any advice for making the headstock/neck? as I'm having a little trouble.

No, an I never will. Although I trained as a product designer and I had to do lots of sketching modules, i always hated drawing people. Sorry :(

Thanks buddy. I dont use 3DS for modeling but try to keep the shape as fluid as possable. Good reference material [link] really helps :D
